About vervantis.online

vervantis.online publishes plain-English guides to video games. We started because most game guides are either a wall of patch notes or a thin page built to rank in search. We wanted something in between: an article you can read once, before you install a game, that tells you honestly what the game asks of you and whether you will enjoy it.

We write the guide first. Commercial links are added afterwards and are always labelled. No advertiser sees, approves or edits our text before it is published, and we do not accept payment for a rating, a ranking or a favourable opinion. Where a game has drawbacks, we say so — a guide that only praises is not a guide.

Where we state a fact about a game, we describe the version and platform we are writing about. Games change constantly, so we date our pages and correct them when readers tell us we have got something wrong.

This site is free to read. It is paid for by advertising and by affiliate commissions on some outbound links. You never pay more because you used one of our links, and you are never required to use them. The full explanation is in our Advertising Disclosure.

We are not a game publisher, developer, distributor or shop. We do not sell games, take payment from readers, host downloads or run game servers. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Gaijin Entertainment, Darkflow Software or any other publisher whose games we write about. Trademarks belong to their owners and are used here only to identify the products we describe.

Because we do not licence publishers' artwork, we illustrate our military-history guides with historical Second World War photographs that are in the public domain — principally U.S. Army Signal Corps photographs held by the U.S. National Archives. Each photograph is credited where it appears. They are historical documents, not game screenshots, and we label them as such so nobody is misled about what they show.
